Community Health Evangelism (CHE)

In Zambia's Eastern province, Community Health Evangelism is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of people. Sustainability is at the core of all things CHE. CHE workers are local people who have received training in contextually relevant methods of basic health care, hygiene, nutrition, and appropriate technology.

In the photo above, a local CHE worker offers a lesson to local mothers which will help them care more effectively for their children. In the photo below, a local CHE worker is pictured with the children she has been building relationship with by playing games, teaching Bible stories, and singing songs.

Flowing out as a ministry of the local church, CHE meets people in their communities at their point of need. Sort of like Jesus met each of us - in the familiar, non-threatening context of daily life, at our point of need.

Through relationship, CHE workers model the love and compassion of Christ - and entire communities are being transformed. People all around Zambia have gratefully received the ministry of CHE and have come to know the love of Christ. Entire families and communities are turning around as Jesus love flows from the local church family. In some places, Islaam is loosing it's grip on people's lives as they receive freedom in Christ.

Recently, a new missionary expressed a desire to begin the ministry of CHE in the neighboring country of Mozambique. Already, Malawi is being blessed by the ministry of CHE. We are thrilled to see how God us using this incredible ministry for His glory and for the good of his beloved children.

With God's help, we will continue to impact communities through the local church and the ministry of Community Health Evangelism.
