Reaching the Lost
Hundreds gathered into the make shift building of the newly planted church on the outskirts of Maputo, Mozambique's capitol city. Lifting joy-filled voices of praise to God, the congregation's singing carried into the surrounding community and before long the place was packed. People stood around the outside of the building, listening intently as Lance began to preach. The Holy Spirit moved on the hearts of people, drawing them and causing them to sense their need for Jesus. Lance offered an invitation to come and follow Jesus. People responded with eager anticipation.
I could not help but notice the little chidren who accompanied their parents. The transformational impact of Jesus presence in a parent's life can alter eternal destinies for generations to come. I am reminded of the Apostle Paul's encouragement to the church at Colossae.
"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down deep into him and let your lives be built upon him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6-7
These new Christians in Maputo, have been grafted into a thriving, body of believers where they can grow deep roots of faith.
We regularly witness the transformational power of Christ in Southern Africa as the lost are reached - thanks to your faithful partnership.
We overflow with thankfulness.
